The department established by Prof. Dr. Zienat I. El Hawashy in 1997, she was the head of the department till 2010. Then, Prof. Dr. Yomen Y. Sabry became the head from 2010 to 2012. Following that, Prof. Dr.  Eman E. Taha held the head duty from 2010 to 2020. Now, Assist. Prof. Shadia Ramadan held the responsibility of acting head from 2020 till now.
