History:
The preparation for the establishment of the Gerontological Nursing Department had started before its official opening on the 6th of November, 1996 by two years. The establishment of a specialized department concerned with the study of all aspects of the older individuals is considered a pioneer achievement which adds to the achievements of the Faculty. Such a department is considered the first department in Egypt and in the Middle East as well.
