Mission:
The primary mission of the Medical Surgical Nursing Department is to prepare nursing students in their different educational levels; undergraduate and postgraduate, with basic medical surgical nursing principles and techniques upon which they can further proceed. The emphasis is to foster learning and ameliorate quality patient care in different specialties.
Vision:
The core values of the Medical Surgical Nursing Department are proficiency, critical nursing, holism and quality patient care. Continuing advanced postgraduate research and technology are required to keep pace with the rapidly evolving and continually changing societal needs regarding the medical surgical nursing fields.
Objectives:
- Prepare competent, professional nurses in the general and specialties of medical surgical clinical settings.
- Provide postgraduate nursing studies to upgrade the cognitive and psychomotor skills of professional nurses to be in line with the current days changing health care.
- Find proper innovative methods to solve patient problems through scientific critical thinking and holistic approaches.
- Prepare students to be self-motivated.

- Diploma in Burn Nursing.
- Diploma in Nephrology Nursing.
- Diploma in Peri-operative Nursing.
- Diploma in Oncology Nursing.
Skills Labs:
The department has specialized skills labs which are prepared with the most recent models, simulators, scientific apparatuses and visual aids. These labs include:
- Three Fundamentals Medical Surgical Nursing Labs (A, B and C).
- One Medical Surgical Nursing Lab and OSCE lab.
