History:
The Nursing Education Department starts in 1997.
Mission:
To provide educational programs to graduate competent nurse educators to upgrade nursing education in the different fields of nursing specialties. By guiding the novice nurse educators to assume their role effectively to provide consultation services and conduct researches in nursing education that will be evidences for upgrading nursing curricula. In addition to prepare nursing graduates to act as a highly qualified health educator, in order to help community members in taking informed decisions regarding health promotion, and disease and complications prevention and management. Besides, providing professional as well as health guidance and counseling for the health team members.
Vision:
The Nursing Education Department is capable of graduating competent nurse educators who assume different roles and responsibilities as teachers, scholars and collaborators in the different fields of professional nursing. In addition to achieving more positive image of nursing, through enabling graduates to perform an effective health education to health care team as well as the whole community.
Objectives:
General Objective:
- Graduate highly qualified nurses and health educators.
Specific Objectives:
- Prepare nursing students to be health educators through counseling and producing health media to health care team and the whole community with a high effectiveness and competency.
- Develop, implement and evaluate different courses of the different specialties.
- Introduce innovative teaching strategies to facilitate higher cognitive levels, problem solving, decision making and critical thinking.
- Conduct training workshops to guide nurse educators to use innovative teaching and evaluation strategies.
- Provide counseling for low achievers students.
- Provide workshops to prepare the newly appointed nurse educators.
- Apply the research's results to improve the educational process.
- Critique researches in the field of nursing education.

- Doctorate in Nursing Education.
